CADCAI Objectives

The objectives of the association are:

(a) To encourage and promote Chinese art, culture and history through literature, music, visual and performing arts;

(b) To support historical research and publish articles of interest relating to Chinese history, migration and settlement in Cairns and North Queensland;

(c) To promote, manage and conserve the Cairns Lit Sing Goong temple collections and other movable Chinese cultural heritage objects;

(d) To foster harmony and promote awareness, understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity, in particular, Chinese heritage, history and culture in North Queensland and in the wider community in Australia;

(e) To establish and manage a North Queensland Chinese Cultural Heritage Centre;

(f) To establish and develop close links with educational institutions, libraries, museums, Chinese community groups, other community organizations and others assisting in the furtherance of these objects;

(g) To raise funds and accept donations to achieve such objectives.
